Apprenticeship schemes

Finance Apprentices

Trainees rotate through the different areas of the finance department such as credit control, financial reporting, financial administration and accounts payable. This allows apprentices to find the most rewarding role in what is a huge department. Apprentices work towards an AAT Level 2 qualification with the scope to progress to AAT Level 4.

Engineer Apprentices

These cover the various divisions of cranes, maritime, concrete and earthmoving. Typically, engineering apprenticeships last four years but are individually reviewed on an annual basis. Each apprentice will be assigned a dedicated mentor(s) to support and identify ongoing development requirements. Apprenticeships are based at our Biggleswade, Wigan and Bathgate workshops.

HR Apprentices

Recruitment for this role is based on the business needs of the department, so vacancies are less frequent than in other departments. Apprentices here will work towards CIPD Level 3 with scope to progress to CIPD Level 5.

IT Apprentices

These programmes are individually tailored, allowing an apprentice to cover the areas that most interest them. IT learners also have the freedom to pick the course they believe will be most beneficial to their career development.

Business Apprentices

On rotation across eight parts of the business, business apprentices follow a plan that is individually tailored to satisfy their goals and aspirations. They can also select the course that’s right for them.
